Custom Pool Water Features in Orange County

Water features are how a pool becomes a destination. Coastline designs sheer-descent waterfalls, natural stone grottos, deck jets, scuppers, and bubblers — each plumbed and lit so the feature looks intentional from inside the house and sounds right in the backyard, not like an afterthought bolted onto the wall.

The Coastline Standard

  • Sheer-descent waterfalls & wall scuppers
  • Custom grottos & natural rock waterfalls
  • Deck jets, bubblers & laminar arcs
  • LED-lit features for evening ambiance

Choose Features by Effect

  • Sound — sheer descents and scuppers give a clean white-noise sheet; rock waterfalls are bigger and more natural
  • Motion — deck jets and laminar arcs add life to a still pool without the noise
  • Light — LED-lit features keep the yard alive after dark
  • Play — bubblers and rain curtains for kids and shallow zones

Grottos & Natural Rock Waterfalls

A grotto is a build within a build: structural masonry, real or cast stone, plumbing hidden inside the structure, and a swim-out underneath. Done right, it's the reason people remember your backyard. Done cheap, it leaks — which is why we engineer grottos with the shell, not as an afterthought.

Plumbing, Automation & Noise

Every feature is plumbed with its own valve and scheduled through automation — waterfalls for the evening, deck jets for the kids, nothing running at 2 AM. And we tune the noise: a waterfall sized for your yard, not the showroom, so the feature sounds like your backyard, not a highway.

Integrated at Plumbing, Not Bolted on Later

On a new build, every feature is plumbed and steel-tied into the shell before shotcrete day — the sheer-descent wall, grotto plumbing, and deck-jet lines are part of the pool's hydraulics with dedicated valves from the start. Adding features to an existing pool is a 1–2 week retrofit: a raised wall or scupper box, a tie-in to the existing equipment set, and matching coping and tile so the addition looks original to the pool.

Water Feature Costs

  • Sheer descents — typically $5,000–$15,000 depending on width, wall and lighting
  • Grottos and natural rock waterfalls — $20,000 and up; they're structural builds, not add-ons
  • Deck jets, scuppers and bubblers — priced per feature and plumbed with dedicated valves
  • Retrofit to an existing pool — about one to two weeks for a raised wall or scupper with matching tile and coping

“Our pool came out even more beautiful than what we had imagined. … We had a unique waterfall design in mind and it took some time to source it but they found one for us that was perfect - even better than the inspirational pic from Pinterest.”

Water Features FAQs

Sheer descents and scuppers give a steady, soft sound; rock waterfalls are louder and more natural; deck jets and laminar arcs add movement with very little noise. We size the feature to your yard so it sounds right at the seating area.

Sheer descents typically run $5,000–$15,000. Grottos and natural rock waterfalls start around $20,000 because they're structural builds with hidden plumbing.

Yes. Adding a raised wall, scupper or sheer descent to an existing pool is usually a one-to-two-week retrofit, with tile and coping matched to the original pool.

No. Each feature gets its own valve and runs on an automation schedule — evenings for the waterfall, afternoons for the deck jets — so nothing runs when no one's there.
